To begin with ,it’s important to note that we need to protect our water catchment areas , plant trees , and build dams that will hold excess water and also reduce flood . People ought to be taught a bout the importance of harvesting rain water, building gallows that will minimize floods , create water channels where water will pass , this is because if we don’t create way for water, it will find its way out and the end result is flooding in our homes , our farms , our roads ,our offices etc. The solution to dealing with floods and other catastrophes lies with us.We need to conserve our environment because if we don’t , mother nature knows how to revenge, and the end result is loss of lives and property. Proper farming methods ought to be emphasized because they are very key in conserving our environment. Irrigation schemes ought to be introduced in areas that experience recurrence floods. This will minimize flood , provide jobs for people who will work in those areas and promote food security.
